Everything below is also in the app, under Settings → How Interval Timer Studio works. If your question is not here, write to hello@officeball.ai — a real person reads it.
- What is a timer, exactly?
- A list of intervals that plays in order. Each interval has a name, a length and a kind — work, rest, hold and so on. The interval list repeats for the number of rounds you set. Warm-up and cool-down sit outside the rounds and run once each.
- How do I start a workout?
- Tap any timer in the Timers tab. That is it — a row tap runs it. There is a short count-in first, which you can change or switch off in Settings.
- The screen locked itself. How do I get the controls back?
- Press and hold anywhere. A few seconds into a workout the screen locks so a stray tap cannot pause you mid-set. If you would rather it did not, turn off "Lock the screen automatically" in Settings.
- I cannot hear the cues over my music.
- Interval Timer Studio lowers other apps’ audio while a cue plays, then restores it — this works with Spotify or any other player. If it is still too quiet, Settings has separate Alert volume and Voice volume sliders, and every alert sound plays a sample the moment you select it. The Air horn scheme is the loudest.
- Can I read what is coming while I rest?
- Yes. Give an interval some notes and they appear, large, during the interval before it — so the next combination or station is on screen while you are still recovering.
- Does it need an internet connection?
- No, and it cannot use one. The app does not request internet permission at all. It works on a plane, in a basement gym or at sea.
- How do I move my timers to a new phone?
- Settings → Back up all timers writes a file you can send anywhere. On the new phone, Settings → Import from a file. Importing only ever adds timers; it never replaces or deletes the ones already there.
- Can I share a timer with a training partner?
- Open the ⋮ menu on the timer and choose Share. It goes out as a small file through the normal Android share sheet — no website in the middle.
- I deleted something by accident.
- An Undo appears for a few seconds after every delete, for both timers and intervals. If it has already gone, Settings → Restore the sample timers brings back any built-in timers you removed.
- Can I do reps instead of time?
- Set an interval to Reps in its editor. It has no clock — the workout waits at that interval until you press play again.
- Is there a Wear OS app?
- Not yet. It is the single most requested feature and it is on the roadmap, but it is a separate build rather than an extra screen, so it is not in this version.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Free, no ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases, no accounts. There is no paid tier to fail on you.
Reporting a problem
The most useful bug report says which phone and Android version you are on, what you expected, and what happened instead. If the countdown itself misbehaved, tell us what the timer looked like — rounds, interval lengths, warm-up — so it can be reproduced exactly.
